• you don’t need to be a graphical designer to create beautiful content on your Instagram account.
How to create posts on Instagram (offering extra value)?
Now you have your business account on Instagram, what to post? I trust you already have an idea of how you are going to rhythm your post during the week. If not, you can go back and read this first. The posts should represent your business, and you have a good set of pictures you are going to use and post.
Let’s say you have a lunch restaurant, your post could be a carousel, which means that your post has more than one image. The top picture should always represent the core of your business, so as a lunch restaurant, it would be the capture of a portion of food. That is easy, right. The rest of the images could introduce your lunch menu, one image for each day. The images could only be text on a one-colored background. So, you draw your audience in with a delicious portion of food, and as additional information, you are letting them know about your weekly lunch menu.
Let’s take another example, you have a yoga studio. Draw your customers in with an appealing top photo and then let them know your weekly schedule.
If you are now wondering why can’t you just write stuff in your caption, there are two reasons. Well, you can, of course; however, there is only a certain amount of characters you can use in the caption, so it might be that your text doesn’t fit there.
The other reason is that some might find it hard to read the text in the caption; the span of interest is really short these days. When the same information is shared as a carousel post, it is easier to find one particular day.
Harmonious feed
We have already covered how you can plan your post, so it’ll not hurt your audience’s eyes when they visit your profile. 😉 The part of creating a harmonious feed is that you wouldn’t add text onto your posts, or if you have to, keep it short and straightforward, for instance, type a headline, and make sure that the text is aligned with your entire feed. The font you’ll be using should be the same from post to another; that way, it becomes familiar to your audience.
Graphic design platforms
The good news is, there are many graphic design platforms and apps you can use to create quality content onto your feed. For content creation, my absolute favorite is Canva***. They have an app for the phone, which I’m not actually using. I do everything on my laptop, which makes it, in my opinion, more comfortable to use. With Canva*** you have ready-made templates you can use, and you can even choose them based on the field of your profession. And if I go back a little to the example of having a lunch restaurant, it super easy to create the post with Canva*** because you can then just duplicate the same background to your carousel post, and you have the font also then ready, you just need to alter the text. Easy, right? The templates you can find are countless for not only to Instagram posts but also to the Instagram story, Facebook, Facebook story, Facebook page cover, YouTube thumbnail, to mention a few. And for these, I myself use it all the time.
Also, with Canva Pro, you have storage space on the platform, and you can use more widely photos from their platform. However, the free version is, of course, good also for these purposes.
When talking about Instagram stories, one app that I recommend is called Unfold. It is super easy to use, and it gives you a more professional look, what comes to creating Instagram stories; of course, you can also use only Canva*** to your stories.
This is how to create posts on Instagram.
